A Poem to the Strongest Women I know

Who am I?
I am a troubled student in middle school
I talk back to the teachers
I get in fights
Teachers hate me
In school suspensions
One point GPA was good enough for me
I didn’t care
I had friends

Who am I?
I am officially graduated from middle school
I can see the direction that I am heading to
It does not look so good
Why is my mom crying?
Why are you kicking my sister out?
There is too much noise
Mom please stop crying
It hurts me too
I don’t like to see you suffer
Your sister is dead
Your brother is dead
The rest are drunks
But you care mom
You still care for them
You believe
You risked it all for us
I am here because of you
You gave up your life in order for me to have one
I owe my life to you mom
Dad I love you too
I promise ill do whatever it takes
I just don’t want to see you cry no more
I don’t like crying myself to sleep

Who am I?
I am entering high school
I was so close to a 4.0 my first year
I’ve never had one of those
I thought those were impossible
If I try, I can do this.
If I put my mind to it anything is possible
The kids at school are no different from me
They are not smarter than me
Son don’t forget to give back
Mom don’t worry
I will give back
To the unfortunate
To the voiceless
To the community
I won’t be able to repay you ever
All I can do is make you proud
If you want me to give back
I will give back until I can no longer breathe

Who am I?
I am a high school graduate
Over 1000 hours given back to my community
Graduated with honors
Half a million dollars in scholarship money
Any college I want to go to paid
But I choose Portland
My mom is close to Portland
I want to be close to my mom
Congratulations son
I am proud of you
Mom don’t cry please
I am not finished yet
My life has just started
There are people that need help
If I don’t help who will

Who am I?
I am college student
Pursing a major in criminal justice and criminology
Since I’ve been in college
I’ve gladly given up another 800 hours
To my club
My community
And my country
I want to help those in need
I want to help people see the best in themselves
I want to give back

Who am I?
I am curious at the detention center
Walking to B2
The door opens
We begin with our assignment
How much do you get paid?
You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t get paid
Nothing
Zero
Nada
Then why are you here?
Because I believe in you
Nobody is going to listen to you around here?
You don’t have to listen
But I know
One day, somewhere
Someone will here my voice
If I can get one person to listen
If I can motivate them
If I can help them see the potential that lies within them
If by the end of the day something inside their head clicks
Than I have done my job
I wish I had more time
I also wish I had more hands
But I guess these two will have to do

Who am i?
I am thirsty
I am hungry
I am ready to over come any barrier
So that I can become a better helper
Capstone is done
Detention visits are over
But believe me I won’t forget
The unfortunate
The voiceless
And the community
I won’t forget the youth
They are the future of this country
I won’t forget you
I will be back
And I will help
I just need my degree
My masters and my PhD

Who am i?
Isaac Camacho Castillo
You are my son
I am proud of you
Thank you so much
No mom
Thank you
Thank you for giving up your life so I can have a better one
Thank you for making me who I am today
I will give up my life in order for others to have a better one
