Outcome to 4-H Tranning
This is A picture I took at The training. All these students that went were in High school, at least the ones that are going to be trained. There is two Summer Camps in the summer.
Middle school
There is also Elementary Summer camps available.
Students at these camps do recreational activities, here shown campers are canoeing.
Campers do archery, swimming, tree swings, volleyball, and soccer for recreational activities.
These camps aren't just fun and games, the main reason campers come is to make themselves a better person. To strengthen there minds and body to make the best even better.
Here campers are learning about Robotics.
Campers learn about opportunities as a minority, they learn engineering, forestry, and law. There is many motivational speeches about life, privileges, who are you?.
At this training I gave a speech and I was asked Two questions.
1) How did you make it to where you are now?
2) How do you pay for College?
(Answer #1)
I got off my ass and took action. Where I am now is something I had to work for, it was not placed in my hands. If you want something in life you have to get up and run for it till you catch it. I was a bad kid with low grades in middle school, I loved to fight, and I loved to steal. It wasn't until high school I changed the way I saw myself. I started doing community service, that I enjoy doing. 4-H has helped me find myself in life. 4-H showed me a better path in life, showed me that anything can be accomplished. If you want something in life, again you have to work for it... you cant just be lazy, be on Facebook, party and do drugs, it does not work like that. I had no life really in high school, I wasn't much of a party guy. I gave up my so called "fun" high school life. Look at me Now, i'm in college.
(Answer #2)
I am A GMS Recipient, they pay for all my expenses for my undergrad and Graduate Tuition.
I was not handed this Scholarship, I worked hard to attain it. I get paid $6,000 a year to go to school and get good grades, that money they give me is not money for tuition this is money I get for my own.
Over 1000 hours of community service in high school, overcoming a language barrier. Family obstacles as well as stereotypes I had to face, and the racism.
Take some time to read see this video that is so close to the way I feel about my life.
